Matthew Stafford 'unlikely' to play Thursday

-23f22c097555d8c2_medium.jpgPer MLive.com:
"Detroit Lions coach Jim Schwartz today said rookie quarterback Matthew Stafford has a separated left shoulder, but it was not dislocated.

Schwartz said it was 'unlikely'' Stafford would play Thursday against the Green Bay Packers, but he still left open the possibility that he might."
It's probably 90% likely that Daunte Culpepper starts against the Green Bay Packers on Thanksgiving Day. It's a bit of a downer for the team following his heroic win against the Browns, but Culpepper may actually give his team a better shot to win against the Packers because of his experience. Culpepper should only be considered in deep two-quarterback league formats.

Big Ben should play Week 12

Ben-Roethlisberger.jpgPer NFL.com:
"The Steelers were very enthused by the progress made by QB Ben Roethlisberger after he suffered a head injury late in Sunday’s overtime loss to the Chiefs and expect him to play against the Ravens this weekend, according to a league source.

It would take some sort of unforeseen and highly unlikely setback for Roethlisberger not to play this Sunday, and he’s expected to practice regularly this week."
This is really good news for the Steelers (and fantasy owners) who need their star quarterback ready for a must-win game against their hated rivals, the Baltimore Ravens. The Ravens are a very good matchup for Ben Roethlisberger and the Pittsburgh passing game, so pencil him in as your starter. Just keep an eye for an irregularities in his practice status to be safe. Dennis Dixon should be his backup, and with Charlie Batch likely out for the season (again), expect the Steelers to move forward with Dixon as the primary backup in 2010.

Betts Tears MCL & ACL? Cartwright New Starter

portis1md0.jpgPer Twitter / 106.7 The Fan:
"Just to clarify on Ladell Betts injury. He has TORE at least his MCL, likely an ACL. They will know more tomorrow"
Looks like Rock Cartwright will be the starter for the Redskins for the foreseeable future. He will be a super hot waiver wire pickups after totaling 140 combined yards in relief against the Cowboys this week. He's definitely worth investing in if you're in a deep league.
