"The Steelers were very enthused by the progress made by QB Ben Roethlisberger after he suffered a head injury late in Sunday’s overtime loss to the Chiefs and expect him to play against the Ravens this weekend, according to a league source.
It would take some sort of unforeseen and highly unlikely setback for Roethlisberger not to play this Sunday, and he’s expected to practice regularly this week."
This is really good news for the Steelers (and fantasy owners) who need their star quarterback ready for a must-win game against their hated rivals, the Baltimore Ravens. The Ravens are a very good matchup for Ben Roethlisberger and the Pittsburgh passing game, so pencil him in as your starter. Just keep an eye for an irregularities in his practice status to be safe. Dennis Dixon should be his backup, and with Charlie Batch likely out for the season (again), expect the Steelers to move forward with Dixon as the primary backup in 2010.
